Young Hustlers New Generation (YHNG), a group of young Anguillans from across the island, has continually committed to assisting in the development of Anguilla with the intention to empower youth, especially young men, to not only unite and discuss ideas but to also make these ideas a reality.

The group was able to make one of its goals a reality this week. In fact, initially the goal was to contribute to the schools the members attended, but they were able to exceed their expectations by contributing one hundred (100) standing cooling fans to most of the schools on island (ALHCS, OKPS, VPS, ATHPS, VVPS, MVPS, St Marys Pre School, Bethel Methodist Pre School, Ebenezer Methodist Pre School & Prophecy Pre School), the Senior Citizens homes and the Arijah Children’s Foundation. This contribution would not have been possible without the overwhelming support from patrons.

Over the last four years, the group has been quietly giving back to the community by assisting in several community projects, charities and initiatives, such as the Arijah Children’s Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Representative of YHNG, Jaidel Richardson, said: “We recognise that Hurricane Irma, in September 2017, caused tremendous damage to our schools. Since then, children have been in discomfort as they await the rebuilding of their schools. We want to assist in providing an environment that is conducive for learning and, in this case, creating cooler and more comfortable classrooms.”

The fans were handed over earlier this week.
