ONENESS 2019 a Success! by the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students

On Saturday November 16th, 2019, the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students hosted their annual “Oneness” Student Gathering. The event organised under the theme: “Different Paths Through Innovative Learning” was an evening of information and support sessions for tertiary and pre-tertiary students on Anguilla and included students from the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School, Comprehensive Learning Centre, the Anguilla Community College, Ani Art Academy and the UWI Open Campus Anguilla.

The evening included some excellent presentations by Samantha Alfred Derrick (Motivation), Rolandson Lynch (Time Management), Patrice Richard (Budget & Finance), Donnis Elliott-Whyte (Liberty Co-operative Credit Union), Tamara Pradel (Innovative Research Techniques), Melissa Harrigan (Study Tips), Mikeela Skellekie (Mental Health), Lisa Rey (Nutrition) and concluded with an energising Zumba/Dance Session with Shana Kentish Jno-Baptiste.
The UWI OC Anguilla Guild of Students would like to express a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors; ANGLEC, FLOW and IWAS for their kind contributions. Additionally, the ALHCS for the use of the Rodney McArthur Rey Auditorium and the various presenters who gave of their time.

Oneness is an initiative of the UWI OC Anguilla Guild of Students and seeks to create avenues for students to obtain the necessary resources and information through the sharing of knowledge by experts and fellow students. The initiative is an opportunity for tertiary and pre – tertiary students to create networks while gaining tips on how to improve the balance between academics, work and family life.

The UWI Open Campus Guild of Students is the student arm of the UWI Open Campus and is the representative body for student interest and initiatives. The next scheduled activity for the Anguilla Guild of Students is the Annual Games Night on Saturday, 16th December 2019.
.The UWI Open Campus is one of five campuses of the University of the West Indies. It is charged with “opening doors to life-changing learning wherever you are” and is currently accepting applications for Semester Two, which begins in January 2020.
