RUSSIA is Ready: Kazan to host the 27th Summer Universiade in 2013

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) conducted an Extraordinary General Assembly for national university sports federations of its member countries from around the world. In attendance were 108 countries. Representing the Anguilla University Sports Federation was Ms. Wenonah J. Hughes, Vice-President of the Anguilla University Sports Federation.

The primary purpose of the assembly was to introduce amendments to FISU’s constitution. As part of the program, however, delegates were given the opportunity to visit the world class venues designed and constructed to host the 27th Summer Universiade in 2013.

 

At next year’s games, which will be hosted by the city of Kazan,Russia, 163 FISU member countries will have the opportunity to compete in 27 sports. The Anguilla University Sports Federation intends to see 4 athletes represent Anguilla in the 2013 Universiade.
