The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla and the UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter are this year hosting a double ceremony for the annual Recognition of New Graduates and the Alumni Awards. The ceremony will take place on Friday, 22 November at 3:30 p.m. at La Vue in South Hill.
UWI Open Campus 2019 Graduates: Jillian Abbott, Kirsten Herbert, Mishline Leader, Rene Henry, Cornelius Marie, Tamara Wallace, Vernice Carter, Jerica Crawford, Marlene Thomas-Bryan, April Richardson, Tiffany Thomas and Iantha Rogers, as well as Molentiya Samuel from UWI St. Augustine, Nevon Gumbs, UWI Cave Hill and Heather Morris, UWI Mona, will be recognised at the local ceremony.
The fifteen Graduates completed their degrees in the University’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate prorammes in Education, Social Work, Health and Family Life Education Instruction, Management and Nursing Studies. The local Recognition Ceremony follows the official Presentation of Graduates Ceremonies by the University last month and provides an opportunity for local Graduates to celebrate their achievements with family and friends.
The Alumni Association will salute the new Graduates and also pay tribute to the work of Alumni, Dr. Lowell Hughes and Mrs. Sandra York-Gumbs. Dr. Hughes and Mrs. York-Gumbs will be presented with the UWI Apex Award in recognition of their professional excellence and outstanding contributions in the fields of Medicine, Administration and Education.
