In 2009, the East End Community Club embarked on a journey to be a philanthropic club with a passion to assist in the medical and educational areas throughout our island, being cognizant of the fact that no government can meet every need.

Over the past nine years the following institutions have been recipients of the club’s fundraisers:

The Arijah Foundation
The Special Education Unit
The Music Department and the Pupil Referral Unit of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School
The Rosewood Centre facility for senior citizens
The Dove Centre
The six government primary schools
The Miriam Gumb’s Senior Citizen’s Home

The Princess Alexandra Hospital – where an autotherm shortwave diathermy unit, which is used to stop bleeding during surgery was purchased
Just Tender Care facility for senior citizens
On Saturday, 26th October, 2019 the
10th Anniversary fundraiser was held at the
St. Augustine’s Anglican Church and the proceeds were earmarked for Dove Centres
1 & 2 – facilities for children with special needs.

On Friday, 08th November, 2019, President of the club, Mr.Owen Mussington, presented the Principal of Dove Centre 1 (AAPS), Ms. Trisha Richardson, with a cheque in the amount of EC$2000.00 which will be used for assisting with the building of a physical development room.

Ms. Stacie Ruan, organizer of the fundraiser, presented Teaching Assistant, Mrs. Avice Michael, of Dove Centre 2 with a cheque also in the amount of EC$2000.00 which will be used for purchasing much needed educational equipment and supplies.

The East End Community Club would like to thank the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church for allowing the usage of their church – and our Mistress of Ceremonies, Mrs. Celestine John. A special thank you is being extended to Ms. Jackie Pascher, of Island Dream Properties, for sponsoring our printing costs; and Mr. Lindsley Webbe of Millenium Sounds for donating the PA System.

Our dedicated participants, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you. To our loyal supporters, we appreciate you.

The club’s intention is to continue assisting our vital institutions for many, many more years to come.
