UWI Open Campus Anguilla Graduates Participate in Graduation Ceremony in Antigua

Anguilla Graduates

Six of the twelve 2019 Graduates of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla were among the two hundred plus students who travelled to Antigua to participate in the UWI Open Campus’ Presentation of Graduates Ceremony on Saturday, 12th October.

Jillian Abbott was on hand to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies, while Kirsten Herbert and Mishline Leader received their Bachelor of Science degrees in Management Studies with First Class Honours. Cornelius Marie was awarded the Bachelor of Education in Literacy Studies and Tamara Wallace received her Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies with First Class Honours. Iantha Rogers also crossed the stage to accept her Master of Science in Human Resource Management with distinction.

The ceremony in celebration of the 768 Graduates of the Open Campus was presided over by Chancellor, Mr. Robert Bermudez. Also in attendance were University Officials and several Heads of State, dignitaries and government officials from across the region, including Dame Sandra Mason, Governor-General of Barbados; His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda; His Excellency Charles Savarin, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica and Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. Among the Graduates were 11 doctoral students, representing the first cohort of the Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership offered at the Open Campus. Also in attendance in support of the local Graduates, was the UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories Manager, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks.

The other UWI Open Campus Anguilla 2019 Graduates – Rene Henry, Vernice Carter, Jerica Crawford, Marlene Thomas-Bryan, April Richardson and Tiffany Thomas will participate in the Ceremonies at the other UWI Campuses and/or the local Graduate Recognition Ceremony.
