THE VALLEY, Anguilla – October 29, 2019 – Anguilla will be represented at the 2019 Caribbean Cycling Championships which will take place in Havana, Cuba from November 1-4, 2019.
Anguilla’s team includes, Team Captain; Sherwin Osborne, Hasani Hennis, Elroy Laud, Denroy Gumbs and Claude Richardson. The team departed the island on with October an overnight stay in Miami. They departed Miami for Cuba on Wednesday morning, October 30. The cyclists are accompanied by support person, Bryan Hennis and were joined on October 30 by cycling Vice President, Calvert Fleming and on October 31 by President, Sharon Lowe.
The event will see a 34.2km Individual Time Trial race on Saturday, November 2, where Hasani Hennis and Claude Richardson will represent. On Sunday, November 3, will be the 125.4km road race.
Part of the weekend activities will be the Caribbean Cycling Federation’s Annual General Meeting and Elections for the new body, which will govern the sport for the next 4 years.
Participating at this year’s event will be other Caribbean Countries such as Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Belize, Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Curacao, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent & Grenadines, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, host country Cuba and for the first time Turks & Caicos Islands.
