The Hon. Evans M. Rogers, Minister of Health and Social Development and Lands, delivered greetings on behalf of the government and people of Anguilla to over 400 Anguillians and friends of Anguilla at the annual dinner dance, presented by the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York (APANY).

Minister Rogers was joined by the Hon. Cardigan Connor, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Sports, Youth and Culture; Mr. Terry Harrigan, Speaker of the House; Mrs. Shellya Webster, Manager, Corporate Affairs, for the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB); Mr. Mark Romney, CEO of Romcan Car Rental; Ms. Alison Ross, representing the ATB North America Office, and Mr. Steve Defontes of Big Idea Advertising, at the festive affair.

APANY saluted esteemed honorees Dr. Shani Hughes, Dr. Delroy Louden, Mr. James Fleming and Mr. Eric Hughes, for their outstanding achievements in their adopted country, the United States, and their contributions to their homeland, Anguilla. A number of high school and college graduates were also recognized with awards, as they embarked on the next stage of their academic journeys.

The brilliant BOSS and his Horsepower Band provided the entertainment for the evening, and he kept the audience on their feet until the early hours of the morning. A special raffle for a four day/three night stay, courtesy of the fabulous Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Anguilla, was another high point of the evening.
Funds generated from the event will go towards the development and construction of a community centre in Anguilla that will provide a range of services to the youth and local communities.
