The Social Security Board is proud to partner with the Department of Sports of the Government of Anguilla, to purchase a new bicycle for one of Anguilla’s young ambassadors in the sport of cycling – Hasani Hennis.
National cyclist, Hasani Hennis, is currently in Australia receiving professional coaching and training to further his development as a professional athlete in the sport of cycling. He has been doing Anguilla proud with his outstanding performances in competitions thus far. Unfortunately, Hasani’s bike was recently damaged in a cycling accident and he was left without a bike.
The request for financial assistance for the purchase of a new bike for Hasani was made to the Board, and an agreement was made to partner with the Department of Sports to provide the funds to facilitate the purchase in the amount of US$8,000.00. The Board agreed to fund 75% (US$6,000.00) and the Department of Sports 25% (US$2,000.00) of the cost. Both entities have been making the necessary arrangements to expedite the processing and release of funds so the new bike can be purchased this week in time for Hasani’s next competition on Sunday 26th May 2019.
The Board extends best wishes and continued success to Hasani with the use of his new bike for the upcoming competition and all his cycling endeavours.
The Social Security Board is known for its corporate social responsibility throughout the the Anguillian community. The Board’s mission is to transform the quality of life on the island by providing meaningful social security, community empowerment and national development.
