The Government of Anguilla is embarking on a significant public service degree training programme that will cost the island’s taxpayers one million, three hundred and sixty-eight thousand, one hundred and forty-five dollars ($1,368,145) a year.
It means that, for up to a possible three years at universities and colleges outside Anguilla, with some exceptions, the total cost would be over four million, one hundred thousand dollars. For some time now, the Government’s overseas training programme has been lagging behind due to financial difficulties.
Word of this approved expenditure comes from the Government’s website – from the Executive Council’s Minutes dated April 18, 2019 and published on April 26. EXCO has reserved its decision on at least three degree courses pending a review of the Government’s budget for education and training.
