The Soroptimist Day Care Centre is stepping up its programme with a number of expanded activities to better serve the parents who are patronising the facility.
The most recent activity was a summer school programme which had its closing ceremony on Monday this week. “The Soroptimist summer school started on July 9 and ended on August 1st,” Tricia Rey, the new Administrator for the Soroptimist Day Care Centre, told The Anguillian. “We had seven children in the ages of five to twelve years old in attendance,” she said. “They were involved in activities such as arts and crafts, treasure hunting, Bible stories, math and language, indoor and outdoor games, parties, etc. and today we have an exhibition of the children’s arts and crafts work.
“We had two third formers from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School who were on job training. They were Shakiba Thomas and Remesha Minute.
“We would like to thank all the parents who sent their children to the summer school and we look forward to seeing more students next year.”
One of the additions to the day care centre is a play school area with various learning aids.
