The UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter (UWIAA) hosted an enthusiastic gathering of UWI Alumni at a special “Meet and Greet” Session at the UWI Open Campus Anguilla on Thursday, 14th March.
The lively, networking session included the sharing of the plans for the 2019 UWI Alumni Awards and the Julian R. Harrigan Memorial Scholarship Fund Raiser. The Alumni were also briefed on the UWI Pelican Perks initiative, which amongst other benefits, entitles UWI Graduates to discounts at participating businesses across the region.
The Alumni also provided input for the way forward and ended the session by pledging their commitment to and support for the work of the Association on Anguilla.
The UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter represents graduates from all four Campuses (Mona, St. Augustine, Cave Hill and the Open Campus) as well as graduates of the Distance Learning Programme or School of Continuing Studies who reside on Anguilla. According to President, Ms. Yvette Wallace, there are hundreds of UWI Alumni on Anguilla and the Association is seeking to engage them in the activities, as well as encourage them to contribute by mentoring, giving back and demonstrating their “Pelican Pride”/pride in their Alma Mater.
UWI Alumni who have not yet registered with the Association are encouraged to contact the Association through the UWI Open Campus Anguilla at 497-8156 or emailing anguilla@open.uwi.edu.
