On the 13th and 14th of March, a visit to the Foreign Commerce Bank (FCB) in Anguilla was made by one of the shareholders, Mr. Juan Luis Bosch, and four senior Executives of the Corporacion Multi-Inversiones (CMI) of Guatemala. FCB is a locally incorporated company and the only registered and licensed offshore bank in Anguilla. FCB is a captive bank, whose client base is restricted to the CMI Group and companies. CMI is a large industrial and financial group based in Guatemala with operating entities mainly throughout Central America, Dominican Republic and the USA. The Group operates two main industrial areas: Foodstuffs, such as milling, poultry and a restaurant franchise called Pollo Campero, and Capital which includes energy, telecommunications and finance. The Group employs over 40,000 persons. FCB opened its office in Anguilla in 2004 and is located at the Anguilla Professional Complex Building in The Valley.
During the two-day visit, the executives met with H.E. the Governor and the Financial Services Commission for the purpose of re-emphasizing their commitment to Anguilla and briefing them on CMI Group’s recent business developments.

Mr. Bosch and executives of CMI took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the H.E. the Governor, the Government of Anguilla, and the Financial Service Commission for the support they have received throughout the years of FCB’s operation in Anguilla as well as looking at the possibility of building further relationships. Mr. Bosch was proud to announce that one of the hydroelectric subsidiaries of CMI in Guatemala received the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Standard and Poors 2018 Global Platts Energy Awards held in New York City on the 6th December 2018.
The Chairman of FCB’s board, Mr. John Lawrence, and his wife, Lindsay, hosted a cocktail at their home for the executives where special recognition was given by the Bank and by CMI to the retiring Executive Director of CMI’s Finance Unit, Mr. Julio Avendaño, who was instrumental in opening the bank in Anguilla.
