Mrs. Patricia Adams (Teacher Patsy), Ivor Hodge and Collette Jones-Chin will be among the storytellers, poets and other performers who will gather under the moonlight at Crocus Bay on Tuesday, 19 February at 6:30 p.m. for the “Moonlight Stories Edition” of the Malliouhana Poetry Extempo series.

Families are encouraged to bring their children to experience this special evening under the February full moon. Interested storytellers, and other performers, are invited to contact the UWI Open Campus Anguilla at 497-8156 or the Public Library at 497-2441. This is a rare opportunity to share and savour stories in this traditional ambiance – and performers and members of the audience are encouraged to make impromptu presentations using the extempore format or share existing work.

Organised by the University of the West Indies Open Campus Anguilla in collaboration with the Anguilla Library Service, the Department of Youth and Culture and the Anguilla Community College, the Malliouhana Poetry Competition seeks to encourage literacy and artistic expression, as well as to promote an ethos of social, cultural, and political awareness. The Extempo evening of sharing is expected to help stimulate interest in the 2019 Competition slated for 8th May 2019.
