House of Assembly in session

The Anguilla House of Assembly met on Wednesday, November 15, with an agenda of six pieces of legislation proposed by the Government and five questions from the Leader of the Opposition, Ms. Palmavon Webster.

The Government Business included a Bill for the Child Protection Act, 2018 (second and third readings); A Bill for the Status of Children and Parentage Testing Act, 2018 (second and third readings); a Bill for the Stamp (Temporary Provisions Act, 2018 (second and third readings); a Bill for the Aliens Land Holding Regulation (Temporary Provision Act, 2018; a Bill for the Labour Relations Act, 2018 (first reading); and a Bill fir the Criminal Justice Reform Act, 2018 (first reading).

At the outset of the meeting, Mr Terry Harrigan who had been serving as Acting Speaker, was sworn in as Speaker to replace the late Mr. Leroy Rogers.
