A team from the University of West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla travelled to St. Martin/St. Maarten on Saturday 27th October for a special outreach/networking visit. Chair for the Guild of Students and UWI Student Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) Ambassador Kemoloy Murphy, along with Guild Executive members Mrs. Charlene Roach, Miss Melissa Harrigan and Miss Tiffany Moore was accompanied by Manager for the UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories, Dr. Phyllis Fleming Banks.
The group was well-received by residents as they shared information on the University’s online programmes via local media, as well as on the streets and in business places. Later in the afternoon they conducted a Meet and Greet interactive session with local UWI Open Campus Students and Alumni.
The UWI Open Campus team is expressing appreciation to all those who helped to make the outreach initiative a success. Special thanks to Ms. Justina Basil, the St. Maarten Representative on the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students, and Alumna Ms. Roslyn Forde, as well as the University of St. Martin, Nicolai Bell of VIP Destination Services and Office World St. Maarten for their support.
The UWI Open makes up one of the four campuses of the University of the West Indies. The Campus is charged with “opening doors to life-changing learning wherever you are” and is currently accepting applications for Semester Two which begins in January 2019.
