A press release, issued by the local airline, stated that it had become the first aircraft company in Anguilla whereby visitors and travel agents can book connecting flights to the island via the Global Distribution System (GDS) and using Hani Air as the Marketing Carrier which has a network of more than 360 partners. Using the GDS system means that flights can be easily booked to Anguilla from St. Maarten, St. Barths and other hubs on Expedia, Travelocity, KAYAK, Priceline.com and other sources. There are also linkages with a number of other major carriers from the United States on which visitors can travel to Anguilla and have their ticketed straight to the island.

According to the press release, in order to serve the island and its visitors better, Anguilla Air Services has plans to add two extra planes to its fleet – one each in 2018 and 2019. The airline’s current fleet comprises three BN2 Islanders; and a Cessna 414.

Further information on the new initiatives of Anguilla Air Services is available in the press release printed elsewhere in this edition of The Anguillian newspaper.
