The Health Authority of Anguilla wishes to thank Mr and Mrs. Garry Sharpe, the proprietors of Health Care Logistics (HCL) in the USA, for their donation of five new intravenous infusion pumps. These pumps will be used in the special care nursery and in the Paediatrics Ward of the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The intravenous pumps accurately and safely infuse fluids to infants and children. They are absolutely essential for the basic care of the newborns that are hospitalized. These pumps will assist us in monitoring the small amount of fluid needed for fluid therapy which can be difficult to manually calibrate. The use of intravenous pumps would decrease the risk of the infant or child getting too little fluid (dehydrated) or too much fluid.
Through the initiatives of the Minister of Health, the Sharpe family and HCL have been playing, and continue to play, a vital role in the overall improvement in the quality of healthcare in Anguilla through their generous donations. These donations thus far include: CT Scan, Blood Banking equipment and the new State-of-Art Neonatal Transport Incubator.
On behalf of the Health Authority of Anguilla, the Government and People of Anguilla, I would like to once again thank Mr and Mrs Sharpe and HLC for their continued support to the overall improvement and delivery of Health Care Services to the inhabitants of Anguilla and to all our visitors.
