AXA Ale was introduced to the island at the beginning of August and has been a huge success with the local population and tourists who are all full of praise for the product. AXA Brewing Company is a new innovation with Christian McClean, Kenny Henry-Webster, Mike Holzman and Jennifer Henry-Webster behind the project.
Kenny and Christian have both been bartenders for many years and know that visitors want to taste local beer. They have been planning a local beer for many years and are all delighted that it is now a reality. Currently, the beer is produced by Lazy Magnolia in Mississippi but plans are underway for a brewery on island – and the opening date is soon to be announced.
The logo for the beer, that is just 4.2 percent alcohol, is “Tranquillity Wrapped in Brew.” It was introduced to the public during the Summer Festival where there was a booth at each event. It is now available at many of the island’s restaurants and bars with more commitments ahead for the upcoming season. It will eventually be available at grocery stores as well.
At the launch of AXA Ale, Kenny said they have been working on the project for a long time and are aiming to have the beer brewed on island as soon as possible. Jennifer described it as a ‘dream come true’ for the owners and for Anguilla. Christian thanked everyone for their support and thanked the Government of Anguilla for making it possible, noting that they want to make it an important project for the island. “We want it to be the best it can possibly be for the island, and we are proud to call this beer our own,” Christian said.
