The Stoney Ground multi-purpose volleyball court came alive on June 15, with the commencement of the Anguilla Amateur Volleyball Association’s Annual Co-ed Business League competition.
Proudly sponsored by MEPITS Solutions, this year’s tournament boasted a record number of ten teams all vying for the 2018 championship. Representatives from MICUH, The Reef, Fire Department, Four Seasons, Delta Gas, Teachers, Anglec, Construction, Sports and Unemployed came out in their numbers to rally behind their respective teams.

Following a short opening ceremony, an intense knockout competition occurred, in which ANGLEC emerged undefeated. The next three weeks were characterized by exciting, nail-biting Volleyball action as all teams fought to qualify for the semifinals where there was only room for four teams: the Fire Department, Teachers, Construction and Four Seasons.

The Construction and Fire Department teams were victorious in the semi-finals, which resulted in an unprecedented third place matchup of Four Seasons versus Teachers and a finals matchup of Construction versus Fire Department. Team Teachers dominated Four Seasons in two straight sets to lock their third place position. In the final game of the night, Fire Department conceded defeat for the first time in the tournament as Team Construction won first place. Congratulations to the 2018 Co-Ed Business League Champions-Team Construction!

The Anguilla Amateur Volleyball Association would like to thank their sponsor Mepits Solutions, all teams that participated in this year’s league as well as our faithful fans and supporters. See you next year!
