Safety Excellence Silver Award: Department of Disaster Management (presented to Ms. Susan Hodge)
Presentation of award to Ms. Maria Armantrading
Positive Prevention Award (Blue): Sol Ltd. (presented to Mr. Carlos Collymore)

Star Safety Bronze Award: Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (presented to Ms. Shenique Clarke)
Safety Innovative Award (Blue): Anguilla Fire & Rescue Services (presented to Mr. Worrel E. Brooks)

Safety Spirit Award (Blue): Anguilla Multifaceted Professional Security Services Incorporated, Mr. Hubert Hughes
Overall Winner – Superior Safety Gold Award: UWI OHS Class 2018

Six groups in Anguilla have been presented with prizes and awards by Scotiabank (Anguilla) Limited for their winning booths in the All Hazard Risk Reduction & Safety Fair 2018. The presentations were made at the bank on Wednesday this week, July 4.
The winners were as follows:
• Superior Safety Gold Award: UWI OHS Class 2018
• Safety Excellence Silver Award: Department of Disaster Management
• Star Safety Bronze Award: Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (presented to Ms. Shenique Clarke)
• Positive Prevention Award (Blue): Sol Ltd. (presented to Mr. Carlos Collymore)
• Safety Spirit Award (Blue): Anguilla Multifaceted Professional Security Services Incorporated, Mr. Hubert Hughes
• Safety Innovative Award (Blue): Anguilla Fire & Rescue Services (presented to Mr. Worrel E. Brooks)
The overall winner of the Exhibitor Booth Incentive Prize was te UWI OHS Class 2018.
Three special awards were also presented. The first award, a tribute to the late Mr. Hewlette Gumbs, Country Manager of Sol Ltd. Anguilla, was presented to Mr. Worrell E. Brooks on behalf of Sol Ltd. The recipient of the award from the Essential Services Committee was Ms. Maria Armantrading for her long service with the Department of Disaster Management and the All Hazard Risk Reduction & Safety Fair. Ms. Armantrading is now retiring from the Anguilla Public Service. The third presentation was made to the UWI OHS Class of 2018, the overall winner of the safety booth competition.
The winners were congratulated by Scotiabank’s General Manager, Mr. Ramakrishman Ramsingh. He said in part: “We are proud to be associated once again with the Essential Services Committee in hosting the Safety Exhibition. It is hoped that by having an exhibition of this nature, that we promote safety not only in the work environment, but that is displays to the general public the importance of safety.” He continued. “Safety is everyone’s business and by that we mean not just keeping an environment of safety at work, but at home as well.”
The awards and prizes were presented by Mr. Karim Hodge, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Communications and Chairman of the Essential Services Committee. He was assisted by Mr. Alwyn Richardson, Programme Officer for Strategic Planning and Mitigation at the Department of Disaster Management.
The Director of the Department of Youth and Culture, Mr. Bren Romney, delivered the opening remarks and prayer.
