Zac Kenworthy arrived in Moscow on June 7th in the role of Senior Producer for Fox TV’s production team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The tournament commences on the 14th June and finishes on the 15th of July. Zac was educated at the Road Primary School and at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School in Anguilla. He later studied at Howard University in Washington D.C. where he received his degree in Journalism.
Whilst undertaking his studies, Zac worked as part-time newscaster, sports commentator and music presenter at Radio Anguilla. ( His first day on Radio Anguilla’s news desk was in the infamous Nine Eleven September 11th 2001). Zac also assisted his father in producing his weekly sports column in “The Anguillian”.
Whilst at Howard University, Zac was employed as an intern by Fox T.V. news, where he eventually became a producer for the main evening news programme under Brett Baier. He worked in this role for seven years.
Zac was married to his wife Megan ( who also worked at Fox) in 2008 and in 2012 they moved from Fox News in Washington D.C. to Fox Sports located in Los Angeles, California, where they now live with their two daughters. Zac’s role at Fox Sports has been as a producer for live soccer matches both in the U.S. and Europe. These have included Major Soccer League and International matches in the U.S.A. and CONCACAF region , English Premier League , F.A.Cup and the UEFA Champions League in Europe. The producer basically controls all aspects of the production and related T.V. programmes before and after live matches.
In Moscow this week Fox kicks off its 32 days of coverage and more than 300 hours of live television on June 13th when FIFA will decide which countries will host the 2026 World Cup ( Morocco or jointly The USA , Canada and Mexico). On June 14th will be the opening match of the 2018 World Cup between the hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia. The winners of the tournament will be awarded the Gold trophy on the 15th July 2018.
