The All Hazard Risk Reduction and Safety Fair, with Platinum sponsorship provided by the Anguilla Electricity Co. Ltd. (ANGLEC) and Delta Petroleum, will offer demonstrations and activities on areas such as workplace safety, personal health, all hazard preparedness & mitigation, crime prevention, personal security, Occupational Health & Safety, Water, LPG and Fire safety, Crime Prevention, and health screening. During this initiative, the organizers plan to educate members of the public on techniques and strategies that can be used to reduce risks of natural disasters, serious accidents and reduce risk in the home and workplace. Members of the public will also be educated as to how to mitigate against existing and potential mishaps which negatively impact the island’s social and economic fabric.
According to the coordinators of the event, the Essential Services Committee of the National Disaster Management Committee, the key objectives of the Safety Fair are to promote safety and risk awareness on the road, in homes and in the workplace; promote safety products and services; and broaden awareness of safety hazards and mishap prevention.
Participants at the Fair will include stakeholders from the private and public sectors, who will occupy informational exhibitor booths promoting safety materials. They will encourage a culture of awareness of all potential and existing hazards to students, parents, and a cross section of the general public. It is anticipated that this Safety Expo will assist disaster management officials and other stakeholders, in promoting safety, thereby resulting in improved mitigation and response efforts by the residents of Anguilla.

Other sponsors of the annual event are Gold Sponsor SOL Anguilla Ltd. and Silver Sponsors – ABC Supplies, Four Season Hotel, Nagico Insurances and Richardson Law Firm. The general public is kindly asked to support this initiative and attend the Fair and receive new safety knowledge to assist in building the Culture of Safety on Anguilla.
