A total of 164 students in Anguilla (128 fifth formers from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School and 36 privately-tutored students), began writing the 2018 CXC examinations on Tuesday, May 8, with the first subject being English A.

The examinations, involving five centres in Anguilla, commenced at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium, now substantially repaired following the impact of Hurricane Irma on September 6, 2017 and the temporary closure of the multi-purpose building.

The CXC exams, in various subjects, will continue for six weeks under the general supervision of Ms. Colleen Horsford, Education Officer, Exams, assisted by a number of past educators serving as invigilators.

It is understood that this year, for some unclear reason, there is a reduction in the number of students sitting the examinations. In previous years, there were over 200 on the list.
