09-buck1Anguilla’s former regional and international sprinter of the mid-1970s, Trevor Davis (Ras Bucket), who blazed a trail for other national athletes, says he is proud of fellow Anguillians, Shara Proctor and Zharnel Hughes.
The two professional athletes, of Team Great Britain, were recently in Anguilla for rest and relaxation following the Commonwealth Games in which they won Bronze and Gold Medals for Long Jump and sprinting respectively.

While in their homeland they spent part of their leisure time with Ras Bucket who is now a Physical Education Teacher. He visited The Anguillian on Tuesday, May 8, saying he was delighted by the achievements of Shara and Zharnel and, like all Anguillians, was proud of them.

Shara and Zharnel have now returned to Holland and Jamaica respectively where they are training for their next competitions.
