48-2017 - APSER CEREMONY WINNERSThe Anguilla Public Service Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony is a service-wide formal recognition programme that recognises significant accomplishments by employees to encourage workplace excellence as well as to enhance the well-being of the Anguilla Public Service (APS). It was initiated in 2014 under the remit of the former Deputy Governor; Mr. Stanley E. Reid and then Governor, Ms. Christina Scott. The Committee in itself comprises seven members:
– The Chairman or a designee of the Public Service Commission
– The Chairman or a designee of ACOCI
– And five members (from primary staff level) with representation from each ministry and departments under HE The Governor:
Those Ministries are:
– H.E. The Governor
– Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Investments & Tourism
– Ministry of Home Affairs, Natural Resources, Lands & Physical Planning
– Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities & Housing (MICUH)
– And Ministry of Health and Social Development.
– Any public servant or group of public servants can be nominated for any of the eight (8) categories with the respective scenarios. The 2018 nomination categories are:
– Public Servant of the Year
– Anguilla Public Service Image
– Above and Beyond the Call of Duty
– Outstanding Customer Service
– Innovativeness
– Security/Safety Achievement
-Inspirational Leadership
– Collaboration
Deadline for submission is Friday, May 18th 2018. Nomination forms can be obtained from the Public Administration’s Government website (http://gov.ai/department.php?id=4&dept=23. The forms can be submitted by any officer/ministry/department unit of the Anguilla Public Service, via mail or email to Public Administration in care of Mrs. Ornette Edwards-Gumbs (Ornette.Edwards-Gumbs@gov.ai), Deputy Director Human Resource Manager. The period of assessment should be from January 2017 through December 2017.
A formal awards ceremony for nominees and nominators is usually held in observance of the annual International Public Service Day ceremony June 23rd. The Anguilla Public Service Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony 2018 ceremony will however be held on Thursday, June 21st 2018. Pictures of past 2015, 2016 and 2017 winners and ceremonies can be viewed on HM Governor’s Office in Anguilla’s Facebook page.
