While drawing, painting and other works of arts and crafts may be a pleasurable pastime for students, their activity, in this case, over the past several weeks, has a serious side to it.
It is the technical aspect of their CXC examination and grading. The Fifth Form students and their teachers mounted an impressive exhibition on Wednesday this week at Campus B. The event, continuing over the coming days, is not so much for public viewing, but for an eventual detailed examination as indicated above.
“I think this is the fifth year that students are displaying their SBAs for grading and the fifth formers have their work on display for the teachers and other students to see,” one of the Art Teachers told The Anguillian newspaper.
“The students started their SBAs from Fourth Form and now upon completion their work will be graded. An examining official from CXC will be coming to do the external grading of the students’ Visual Arts. “The visiting person will also conduct a workshop for a number of Angullians who will then assist in grading the artwork.

“Each student has been working on a different expressive theme form. Some of the students have done painting and mix-media; others textile design, ceramics; drawing, graphic design and fine and decorative arts.
The Art Teachers are Mrs. Navine Maryshaw, Mrs. Diane Samuel, Ms. Katriona Lake and Ms. Alania Carty.
