Donation to Valley Primary School

Anguilla has many friends in the international community. This sentiment was greater observed since the passage of Hurricane Irma in September 2017. Many have mobilised their circles and tapped into their resources to provide much needed assistance. Most recently, Mrs. Sherri Brumm of Refined Retreats paid a visit to the Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary School and The Valley Primary School where she presented each school with US$500.00 cash. The donation to the schools are all the recent proceeds from the Anguilla Strong T-Shirt sales via www.anguillastrong.com.

Prior to this donation, proceeds were also donated to WISE and two local families who were in dire straits. When asked about what motivated her to champion this cause Mrs. Brumm reminded us that those who love Anguilla and its people are willing to take whatever steps they can to mitigate the effects of the disaster experienced in September 2017. Refined Retreats and www.anguillastrong.com will continue its T-Shirt sales as a means of raising funds for all the schools on the island. Persons wishing to support can log on and purchase the shirts directly online. Refined Retreats also encourages all persons visiting the island to bring a few supplies which can be donated to the schools. These can take the form of dry erase markers, pencils, pens, stickers, certificates and others items that can be used as awards by the Teachers – books, dvd’s, teaching aids etc.
Valley Primary School Deputy Principal Tiffany Richardson, and Grade 6 Teacher Lorelle Hughes, thanked Refined Retreats for the timely donation which will be used to bolster the technology component of the School. AARPS Principal Marcia Brooks, and PTA President Bernis George, also thanked Refined Retreats for the donation and committed to supporting the plan and initiatives of promoting learning inside and outside the classroom.
