The presentation, in the spacious church building under the distinguished patronage of the Right Reverend Errol Brooks and Mrs. Brooks, attracted a capacity crowd from throughout the island. The singers were welcomed and introduced by Rev. Menes Hodge.

The visiting group, of about 30 singers, under the direction of Quincy Etinoff, drew prolonged applause at the end of each presentation and a standing ovation at the end of their performance.

The selections comprised: I Lift My Heart To Thee; Hear My Prayer/O for the Wings of a Dove; O Divine Redeemer; Redeemer of Israel; I Waited for the Lord; Mr. Eternal King; I am His Child; Lift Thine Eyes; I am, I am That Man; I Can tell the World; I’m Gonna Sing; and Ride on King Jesus.

Midway in the programme, the St. Augustine Chorale, Anguilla’s popular singing group, made a guest appearance with two selections. The first was directed by Lennox Vanterpool with Kimba Southwell at the piano, and the second by Southwell with Vanterpool as the musician.

During the programme there were two commentaries on the subject “Why We Sing”. The first was delivered by Dr. O. M. Linda Banks, who described many of the psychological and other benefits to be derived; and Rev. John A. Gumbs, Supernumerary Methodist Minister, who saw music and singing as “a ventilation of the soul” and a source of spiritual comfort.
