The Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) would like to remind you that meter base maintenance and property preparation prior to reconnection is your responsibility.
Please have an electrician inspect your property to ensure that your homes/businesses are safe to service. Our crews are working hard to restore Anguilla safely and timely post hurricane Irma. To aid in our restoration process, all customers who are currently without service must collect and sign an Indemnification Agreement form prior to reconnection. Forms can be collected from our main office in The Valley and will serve as written certification of permission to restore service to customers in advance of the Government Electrical Inspector.
Water and other storm induced damage can pose extreme safety risks to ANGLEC crews and the community during restoration. As a result, failure to have your property inspected and prepared beforeANGLEC crews reach your area will result in your home/business being omitted from the reconnection schedule until further notice, for the safety of everyone involved.
Customer Reconnection Checklist
If you have an underground connection, check your service lines. Check for breaks or bruises. Broken or bruised lines can short and cause fluctuations. Replace or repair as needed.
For both underground and overhead connections, check your weather head. If missing or broken, replace it.
Have your panel box inspected. Look for signs of water or loose breakers. Dry or repair as needed.
If you have made changes to your connection point (eg. relocation of your meter base), please make sure to arrange an inspection.
If there is damage to your roof please have it repaired, securely covered or have the area properly isolated by a qualified electrician.
Once all the above are complete please collect, sign and return the indemnification agreement form to Customer Care at ANGLEC’s main office in The Valley.
