The Culinary Arts Summer Youth Escape programme by the Department of Youth and Culture (DYC) held an exhibition of the students’ work on Friday 21st July at ALHCS Food & Nutrition Lab. The programme ran for one week and had a total of 16 students between the ages of 11 to 17. Students were given the opportunity to visit different hotels such as Cuisinart and Four Seasons to get an inside view of the culinary arts. They also visited Tropical Treats to witness the process of making ice-cream locally.
The students worked with Fondant icing for cake decorating and different types of pastry dough including ordinary, sweet, and yeast and Empanada dough.
