On Thursday 6th April, Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School held its Inter-House Sports Day on the James Ronald Webster Park. At the opening ceremony, Principal, Mrs. Joyce Webster-Stuart, expressed disappointment in the lack of support from the public for the school’s Sports Day. She said, “the students represent 10 percent of Anguilla’s population and if we look at the number of persons present, it is disappointing – as the parents and public support are necessary.” Mrs. Webster-Stuart also stressed the importance of sports in developing life-long skills and physical development, noting that sports help in building character and leadership skills.
Jade Reymond, Commercial Manager of Flow, said, “as part of Flow’s mission of transforming lives and connecting communities, we continue to strengthen our stance in the community through corporate partnerships like the one we have fostered over the last 10 years with the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School”. She reassured that Flow looks forward to the continuing sponsorship of youth and national development.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Cora Richardson-Hodge, declared Sports Day officially open – with words of encouragement – and observed that: “Sports provide an opportunity to showcase talent and demonstrate good sportsmanship… and help in national development and economic growth.”
The Webster’s Park was filled with talent as students, some of whom will be representing Anguilla at the Carifita games in Curacao, showcased their best for each house. By the end of the day, Yellow House placed first in the cheerleading competition, and Maroon House was declared overall champions of the 2017 Inter-House Sports Day.
