The staff and pupils of the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School had a combined celebration of Black History Month and World Book Day on Friday 3rd March 2017 in what they dubbed ‘Relax, Read and Learn’. The day was well spent as pupils cuddled up – with their favourite stuffed animal on blankets in their classrooms where they enjoyed some good books.

In the afternoon all pupils assembled in the school’s auditorium where presentations were made of some of the island’s heroes/heroines. The persons highlighted were Mr. Adrian T. Hazell, Mr. Percy Romney, Mr. Errol Romney, Mr. Trevor ‘Ras Bucket’ Davis, Mr. Edwin Carty, Mrs. Louise Franklin, Mr. Nathaniel Hodge, Mr. Clement ‘Bankie’ Banks, Mr. Colville Petty, Mr. James ‘Freddie’ Hughes, Mr. Hugo Rey, Mrs. Daisy ‘Wong’ Richardson, the late Mr. David Hodge, the late Mr. James Ronald Webster(Father of the Nation) and the late Rev, C. Leonard Carty.
The Literacy and Social Studies Coordinators, Teachers Joanne Snagg and Terron Azille, respectively, would like to thank all parents, teachers, students and heroes/heroines and their families for assisting in making this event a memorable and rewarding learning experience.
Black History Month is celebrated throughout the month of February and World Book Day was celebrated on 2nd March 2017.
