In line with the requirements set out in legislation, the Governor has made appointments to the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Public Service Integrity Board (PSIB). Both boards are serving for the period 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2019.

Public Service Commission (PSC)

The PSC advises on appointments to the Public Service, helping to ensure the Anguilla Public Service attracts and retains high quality officers. The Commission also advises the Deputy Governor on sensitive disciplinary and procedural issues.

The members appointed by the Governor acting in her discretion are Mrs Vida Lloyd Richardson, Mr Fabian Proctor and Mr Seymour Hodge. Ms Yolande Richardson and Rev Dr Wycherley Gumbs have been appointed after consultation with the Public Service Staff Associations. Mrs Lloyd Richardson has been reappointed Chair, following consultation with the Chief Minister.

Four of the five members took their oath of office at the start of January, with the fifth and final member doing so this week. The oath included a pledge to serve without fear or favour, affection or ill will.

The Governor and Deputy Governor wish to place on record their thanks and appreciation for the dedication and commitment of outgoing PSC members Mrs Verna Fahie and Pastor Philip Gumbs. The Anguilla Public Service has benefitted from their energies and service.
Public Service Integrity Board (PSIB)

The PSIB’s role is to examine requests for permission from public officers to acquire or hold any interest in a commercial undertaking or to engage in private work and to advise the Governor whether this may constitute a conflict of interest. The Board is also invited from time to time to investigate any alleged conflict of interest of any public officer.

Ms Elvarie Vanterpool, Ms Loma Mussington and Mr Michael Paul have been reappointed to the PSIB. Ms Vanterpool has additionally been reappointed as the PSIB’s Chair.
