The Health Authority of Anguilla and the University of the West Indies through its local branch, the UWI Open Campus, are congratulating five (5) nurses who recently completed the Bachelor of Nursing Degree with the UWI School of Nursing (UWISON).

The Nurses, Dorpha Seabrookes, Fola Richardson, Juliana Fasipe-Christmas, Christine Dupuis-Reid and Ezra Jagaba, who are currently employed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, began the online degree programme in 2013 and completed their courses through the Mona and the Open Campuses. They were awarded their degrees during the University’s 2016 graduation exercises in October.

The Nurses have been motivated by the successful completion of their degrees and have already begun pursuing further specialisation. Nurse Dorpha Seabrookes who currently works in the Accident and Emergency Department is planning to pursue a course in Intensive Care Nursing. Operating Theatre Nurse Fola Richardson is in the process of further developing her skills through her enrollment in an Operating Theatre Techniques and Management course. Nurse Juliana Faispe-Christmas, who is assigned to the General and Maternity Wards says that her jubilation at completing her Bachelor’s degree has motivated her to pursue a Master’s in Public Health. Nurse Christine Dupuis-Reid works in the Dialysis Unit and her passion for this field has led her to pursue additional training in Nephrology. Nurse Ezra Jagaba, who has some twenty-four (24) years’ experience in Accident and Emergency Nursing is currently pursuing his passion in Mental Health Nursing.

The Nurses have expressed their appreciation to the HAA, the UWI and all those who supported during their academic journey.
