Meanwhile, Mr. Vatsaka, the General Manager, commented on the awards presentation ceremony: “These awards are very important to Malliouhana because they represent the team members who are really leading the charge in providing our guests and their co-workers with exemplary service. To us, they are the walking examples of what Auberge Resorts and Malliouhana are all about and that is committed not only to the guests, but also to each other so that they have a wonderful working experience.

There are 140 workers at Malliouhana-Auberge and Mr. Vatsaka said: “Without the staff, Malliouhana is nothing. It’s just a bunch of buildings and a pretty beach; but because the staff do what they do in such a professional way we are one of the leaders in the region as the whole island is. Anguilla is known as an island where you get fantastic service and people are warm and friendly so we love to build on that and make sure that people keep talking about us and coming to us.”

Asked about the tourism season at Malliouhana, Mr. Vatsaka replied: “The season has actually been very good. It is our second full year and we are just continuing to work everyday and making the resort better and better – and providing our guests with a higher level of service; better tasting food and cocktails. We are still new and we got a lot of work to do. We relish it and enjoy it.”
