The New Young Progressive Debaters (NYPD) took a critical look at various national aspects in a debate entitled “Culture & Tradition in Anguilla are Weak & Dying”.
The proposition was debated by Aaron Adams and Tahjique Connor, who were eventually the first place winners. In second place, for the opposition, were Taijah Leveret-Reid and Maeisha Minnet. The best speaker was Tahjique Connor.
The event, organized by Campus B of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, was held at the Teachers’ Resource Centre on Saturday night, July 9. Mr. Colin Johnson, one of the organisers, said it was in preparation for the Campus A senior debate.

Mr. Johnson has extended gratitude to a number of businesses for sponsoring the debate. The list comprises the following: Professional Driving School; Anguilla Definitive Villas; Manoh Ltd; Social Security Board; FLOW; Rey’s Funeral Home; Computer Super Store; Anguilla Air Services; ABC Supplies; Fairplay Management Services; Shoal Bay Villas; Apex Auto Supplies; D3 Enterprises; Arian Freight; ICSS; J&J Pizza; and Corner Bar Pizza.
