On Saturday, June 4th, 2016 the
highlight of the weekend was Regnant Allure’s Mas Band Official Carnival Costume Launch at the El Dorado Parking Lot, Water Swamp. The venue was transformed into an arena for patrons to enjoy each element of the show.
Regnant Allure, an afflilate of Klassique Academy of Dance and Performing Arts (KADPA), delivered an electrifying launch with a packed entertainment lineup which included Exodus HD, three times Anguilla Road March Champion as well as Sekon Sta from Trinidad and Grand Masters from St. Kitts. The Deejay and MC for the night was ‘Mr. Anguilla’ DJ Jeanie.
The main event of the night was the highly anticipated unveiling of the troupe’s carnival costumes. The three sections, designed by Tangiera Huggins, were revealed under the theme for the Mas Band – Purenossa, which means WOW. Organizers said the aim of Regnant Allure is “to deliver an exceptional and unsurpassed experience through the carefully and skillfully designed costumes”.
The colours of the three sections of the troupe are: Fantasy, which includes hues of purple, green, yellow and pink; Illusions, hues of orange, gold and yellow, and Bliss, hues of blue.
Klassique is no stranger to the arts and entertainment scene in Anguilla as it has staged numerous dance recitals, and created and hosts the annual regional dance show: MOVE. Regnant Allure Mass Band is yet another venture under the KADPA’s brand.
Regnant Allure is the first troupe to launch and it is expected that in the coming weeks more troupes will follow as this year’s Summer Festival draws nearer.
