Members of the Dominican Republic community rejoiced as Sky High Aviation Services made its inaugural flight to the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport on Thursday 24 March, providing direct airlift between Anguilla and the Dominican Republic.
Sky High Aviation Services and Dominican Best Travel, a tourism based company in the Dominican Republic, responded to the need of the Dominican nationals living in Anguilla as well as the interest of many Dominicans who want to visit Anguilla. The companies hope to provide an exchange between Santo Domingo and Anguilla which can foster social and economic development between the two countries.
Those who came to Anguilla included Jose A. Garcia Jr. President/Chief OPS; Mr. Wilson Henriquez, Sales Representative at Las Americas International Airport, Santo Domingo and The flight crew.
Mr. Garcia said: “We are happy to be here to serve the community of Anguilla. We thank you for such a great hospitality and making us feel at home”.
Mr Henriques was pleased to be in Anguilla and looked forward to bringing Anguilla and Dominican Republic closer together. Also present at the gathering were members of the Dominicanos Friendly Society.
Sky High Aviation Services was incorporated under the regulations of international aviation since December 22, 2006. The airline has extensive operations throughout the Caribbean particularly in the the Lesser Antilles including Antigua, St. kitts and Nevis and Tortola among others. The airline has a fleet of modern aircraft capable of operating safely between Anguilla and the other destinations. Currently, Sky High is working on a draft operational development which will see it integrating larger aircraft into its fleet both in passenger transport as well as air cargo and mail to meet future needs of the regional air transport services.
