Recruits in BImCommissioner of Police of the Royal Anguilla Police Force Mr. Paul Morrison made true on a promise to the 14 recruits from the RAPF presently in training in Barbados when he visited them last week at the Regional Police Training Centre, in Barbados.
The group of three females and eleven males who are presently under the supervision of Acting Sergeant of Police Kenneth Millette were delighted to see the Commissioner and the opportunity the visited provided for them to interact with him.
In commenting on the visit Commissioner Morrison said, “These new recruits who are midway in the six months of training are the future of the Royal Anguilla Police Force. They are the future senior leaders and my visit was to show how important developing staff and supporting them, is for me.”
“The RAPF needs to change, the policing challenges have evolved and so must the force that is why I see it as a strategic priority to recruit and invest in good people, those willing to promote the ideals of putting the public first and keeping Anguilla safe. Key to change is creating a workforce that is willing to try new ideas, adapt their thinking to embrace intelligence and evidence based approaches to problem solving. I put a lot of faith in these young officers,” said the Commissioner.
The group who left the island on 14th November 2015 will complete their training on the May 2016 and return to Anguilla to take up duties as they begin their three year probationary period.
