The Commissioner of Police Mr. Paul Morrison, and the Chairman of the Police Week Committee, Inspector Marva Brooks, on Wednesday presented the winners of the Annual Police Week Raffle with their prizes. The raffle has been in existence for the past sixteen years as a prominent part of the week of activities marking the RAPF Anniversary and Police Week. The presentation ceremony took place in the parking lot at Police Headquarters.

The grand prize, a fully loaded Audi Q5, valued at US $55,000.00 was won by Ms. Kentricia Brooks of The Quarter. The second prize winner Ms. Dorian Abbott, of Blowing Point, received US $1200.00 and the third prize winner was Ms. Danielle Connor of The Valley who won US $600.00.

Ms. Brooks, who was very happy to win the jeep, recalled the moment she got the call that she had won: “I forgot everything about the raffle and was home getting my hair done when I saw a strange number calling me very late Saturday night”. She said she would have never guessed it was the jeep, but was elated at the news that she won herself a new Audi jeep. Kentricia said she selected her winning ticket at random while flipping through a stack of six raffle books.

Commissioner of Police, Paul Morrison, and Inspector Marva Brooks, congratulated the winners and thanked them for their continued support of the police. Although not present, the grand prize winner of the Police Bingo Competition, which also formed part of the Police Week of Activities, was also congratulated. The winner was Mr. Issac Anthony.

Darlene Ritchie received a cheque for her hard work in helping the Royal Anguilla Police Force with the sale of raffle tickets.
