A statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Media and Public Relations Office has announced that a policy document is being completed for the release of the names of persons charged with committing offences on the island.

The announcement to the media houses is as follows:

“As you are aware the RAPF in a Press Conference in last year indicated its intention to release the names of persons arrested and charged in Anguilla as of the 1st December, 2015.

“Subsequent to that announcement there were a number of legal issues that arose which required us consulting with the legal fraternity in Anguilla. This consultation was deemed very necessary by the RAPF as we work toward a policy document that is legally sound and in the interest of all concerned.

“We thank you for your patience as we work toward a final document.”
