stoDear Friends of Dominica on Anguilla:

We trust that the New Year finds you with a renewed sense of hope, well- being and peace.

This is also a good time to once again thank you for your tremendous outpouring of support, care and concern for those who suffered in one way or another during the passage of Tropical Storm Erika, August 2015.
Your assistance was received in the villages of Colihaut, Coulibistrie and Campbell. As many as 60 families received relief supplies which included twenty two (22) table-top stoves; clothing and household items; food stuff; pampers for babies and the elderly; other baby food and clothes and, most importantly, pallets of water. Many benefited from emergency funds made available during the first days and weeks following the storm.

We were very impressed by the speedy mobilization and transportation of the donated items from Anguilla to Dominica through St. Maarten. We acknowledge the encouragement and assistance given to Miss Ivenia Benjamin and Shanessa Powell who came on the ground in the affected areas. The benefit of their presence ensured that people were met at their point of need. The ground activities included visits to the affected areas, assessment of the damage caused by the storm and the needs of those affected. Miss Powell spent a few days in Dominica to help distribute the relief supplies. Her days were long and sleep was very short as she had to move from village to village over a short period of time. She was very well received by the people of the respective villages. Her expression of support and empathy to those affected was exemplary.
We know that many people contributed to this effort through their time, energy, talent and treasure. Rest assured that we remain grateful for the assistance given. We know that you continue to give your support as full recovery will occur over a period of time and will vary from situation to situation. We take comfort in the solidarity of our common humanity and friendship.

WE PRAY GOD TO BLESS YOU WITH THE OUTPOURING OF HIS FAVOURS UPON YOU. MAY HE BLESS THE PEOPLE OF ANGUILLA.
