Viceroy Anguilla, acting on behalf of the gracious desire of a number of its guests to give back to the people of the island, has held two separate gift presentations in honour of the visitors, dubbed “Giveback Celebration Parties’.
The first was on Sunday, December 27, when 24 bicycles, purchased by Viceroy in honour of its contributing guests, were assembled on the Joannis Lawn and four of the bikes were presented to each of the six government-run primary schools. The giveback event, also called “Wheels in Motion”, recognised the selected children for excelling in academics, extracurricular activities, athletics and behaviour/performance.
The second presentation event – the Healing Hearts celebration party – was held on Wednesday, December 30, at Sunset Lounge. A number of Government officials were invited to the event. For this function also, Viceroy purchased, assembled and presented a critical care incubator, a patient lift, a fracture bed and general medical supplies for the Princess Alexandra Hospital. A number of snuggly toy teddy bears and comfort kits were also presented.
In a statement regarding the gift presentations, Viceroy commented: “Over the past years, so many of our guests have told us that they would like to give back to the residents of Anguilla. “We’ve been inspired by their desire to make a difference in our community. In response, we are excited to announce two philanthropic events with carefully-selected items which will be donated to the residents of Anguilla from our guests.” The resort added that “all the items were purchased in lieu of the room amenities which we have given to our guests in prior years”.
The events were spearheaded by Mr. Peron Supersaud, Director of Rooms and Ms. Nekyra Rogers, Special Events Manager.
The gift presentations came at a high calendar event at Viceroy Anguilla, Festive 2015.
