The Royal Anguilla Police Force, Firearms and Drugs Task Force arrested a 21 year old man from North Side on Wednesday 2nd December, 2015 for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The arrest occurred after the alleged offender and others were spotted in a motor car in the Shoal Bay area and failed to stop when signaled to stop by the police. The vehicle was then pursued by the police and was eventually forced to stop.
A search was then made of the vehicle and the persons in the vehicle where a .380 pistol with seven (7) rounds of ammunition was discovered on the alleged offender.
The offender was arrested pending charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition and taken before the Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charges.
The police continues to appeal to members of the public to use it confidential reporting system www.gov.ai/911 to report any suspicious activity or if they have reason to suspect anyone for being in possession of a firearm and or ammunition.
