Speaking on their own behalf, Mrs. Hickox said in part: “It is just wonderful for us to be welcoming guests to our resort. We have had a very, very strong response in our bookings this year, and so we are looking forward to a terrific season. Cap Juluca is an iconic property and an iconic experience and, while it cannot rest on its laurels, I think the strong response is about our service to our guests. It is very exciting and fun to see it reopened.”
Mrs. Hickox also took the opportunity to welcome back the employees who celebrated the reopening of the resort with a staff party.
Mr. Cardigan Connor, Parliamentary Secretary, with responsibility for Tourism, was at a cocktail reception on Monday evening, November 2, at Cap Juluca. He commented: “It is our flagship and we have to do whatever we can for this resort going forward. Cap Juluca, over the years, has had a number of challenges, but the key is that the heart and soul of Cap Juluca have remained. The beauty now is that we can move forward in a positive realm. It is good to have Cap Juluca back.”
Like other properties in Anguilla, Cap Juluca temporarily closed for the slow season some two months ago.
