During the service, the Director addressed the congregation and stated that the former Pastor the late Dr. Ambrose Richardson had served the Social Security Board well as a Board Member. Contributions Manager Mrs. Jaqueline Reid presented a plaque to Mr. Austin Benny Connor for his role in voluntarily promoting social security coverage among self-employed persons. The Social Security group presented the song “Every Praise”, and Deputy Director Mrs. Maglan Lewis read the Scriptures from Jeremiah 33: 1-11, highlighting verse 6 which says of the land “Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.” It was noted that the Week’s theme “Health, Safety and Social Security: A Shared Responsibility” bore a marked resemblance to that verse. Pastor Carl Richardson delivered a message from 2 Kings 7 entitled “Blessings Outside The Gate” in which he called on the society not to forget those who were outside the protection offered by the Social Security System, and presented a pathway to the return of prosperity in the land.
