The Anguilla Community College commenced a series of activities in celebration of College Week on Sunday, October 18 with members of the Board of Governors, Faculty, staff, as well as students attending a Church Service at the Christian Fellowship Church.
The visiting preacher was Prophet Bonitto Sappleton, a Jamaican national who travels extensively speaking at various regional and international religious events. He has been to Anguilla on several other occasions and is a friend of the leadership and congregation of the Christian Fellowship Church. He took the opportunity to deliver a personal spiritual message to the Reverend Dr. Kathleen Richardson, who has succeeded her late husband, the late Reverend Dr. Ambrose Richardson, as the Senior Pastor of the church.

The personnel from the Anguilla Community College were welcomed by Mr. Christopher Richardson, Music Minister of the church and a former member of the college’s Board of Governors.
College Week, from October 18-24, has as its theme Community Engagement: Opening doors to Expand Possibilities. “As we celebrate College Week, we are mindful of the economic challenges and conditions of our island home,” a release from the college stated. “In order to meet this challenge, we are focused on an increased community engagement…This interest in community engagement is part of the realisation of our commitment to our mission to…”respond to the needs of the community through the delivery of an array of high-quality programmes and services.”s10

Among the activities for College Week was a panel discussion on Tuesday evening, October 20. The panellists were the Reverend Dr. Wycherly Gumbs, Pastor Trent Berg and Mr. Marcel Fahie. The topic was “The Role of the Church in Education: Past, Present and Future”. Another highlight of the week was a sun set sports event on Thursday, October 22 at Coronation Park.

Friday, October 23, was earmarked for a discussion entitled “Student Open Mic”.s9
