Acting Governor, Mr. Stanley Reid, hosted a reception at Government House on Wednesday, 30th September 2015, to mark the occasion of Caribbean Youth Day.

In attendance were Government Officials, National Youth Ambassadors, Youth Parliamentarians as well as members of the newly-elected Anguilla National Youth Council (ANYC).

Brief remarks were given by Mr. Reid and the Hon. Cardigan Connor, and the President of the ANYC delivered an address in accordance with the theme for Caribbean Youth Day. President Shamar Gaskin commented: “Caribbean Youth Day serves to celebrate the work and achievement of young people and to reinforce the contributions and roles of our youths”.
He encouraged young people to become more active and take all opportunities granted to them. “I implore Anguillian youths to become actively involved in both the local and regional opportunities available in youth development. Together we can achieve more towards a stronger and sustainable Caribbean”.
