“You are shining like a Diamond, soaring like an Eagle”, the Principal of the St. Mary’s Preschool, Mrs. Hazel Brooks, told eighty-one students who graduated on Wednesday, June 24.

She was at the time congratulating them on their graduation from among a student roll of 178. They will be transitioning from preschool to the kindergarten sections of various primary schools in September, but will be replaced by a similar number, with registrations already made by other parents and guardians.

“I encourage you to continue your journey by taking on new challenges. Be obedient, be kind, be part of the community…and be all you can be,” the Principal told children.

She also had some words of advice for parents as well. “Please continue to support your children in primary school and beyond,” she advised them. “It is your responsibility to be concerned about their physical, social, emotional, educational and spiritual needs. Accompany them to church and enrol them in church school.”

The Principal added: “Spend at least fifteen minutes of quality time with them daily. Take them to library, read to them and encourage them to read to you. These things are extremely important for the total development of your children.
